Mumtaz Ali Khan Writ Petition Against Govt.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad Tanneries, represented by its authorized signatory Mohammed Mumtaz Ali Khan, filed a writ petition against the government’s plans. The petition challenges the proposed construction of a Unity Mall on what Hyderabad Tanneries claims is its patta land. The petitioner argues that the state’s actions are unlawful, as there has been no proper identification and demarcation of the patta lands and Inam lands vested with the government under the Inams Abolition Act of 1955.

Hyderabad Tanneries has also filed interlocutory applications seeking a court order to prevent government interference with their possession of the disputed lands until the completion of a thorough survey by the Assistant Director of Survey and Land Records. They have requested that any activities related to the construction of the Unity Mall be halted until the land is properly demarcated and all parties are allowed to present their case.
The writ petition names several key respondents, including the State of Telangana, the Telangana State Leather Industries Promotion Corporation, and various revenue officials.
However, government authorities said that the petitioner encroached on the land and hence demolition after following due process. (Maxim News)
