Speaking at the cheque distribution ceremony for the second tranche of Dalit Bandhu funds in Chintakani Mandal of Madhira constituency on Monday, Bhatti emphasized that the funds are already available with the District Collector and will be released in phases based on eligibility.

“Chintakani was the first mandal selected for the Dalit Bandhu pilot project during my tenure as CLP leader,” he said. “As promised, the distribution has resumed post-elections. All funds for the 3,465 beneficiaries in this mandal have been transferred to the Collector’s account.”

However, the Deputy CM highlighted a major concern — 1,387 units under the scheme have either been sold or diverted, despite legal provisions restricting the sale or transfer of Dalit Bandhu units. He warned that strict action would be taken against such violations and noted that district authorities are actively investigating these cases.

“So far, 214 beneficiaries have been found eligible for the second tranche after verification, and cheques are being issued accordingly,” Bhatti stated. He called on beneficiaries to run their chosen professions or businesses diligently, not only for personal upliftment but also to serve as role models for others.

“If beneficiaries succeed and show results, others will be encouraged to cooperate and improve their own standing,” he added. “The government is open to reviewing misused units — if anyone comes forward with details, we will investigate and help put the program back on track.”

District Collector Anudeep Durisetty and other officials also took part in the event, which marked a renewed focus on accountability and impact under the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
