On April 3, 2023, the then government granted permission to set up an ethanol plant there. On June 15, 2023, the Irrigation Department gave orders allocating 18,351 MCFT of water per year from Kaleswaram Package No. 27, Sithakka said.

Minister Sitakka suggested that people should be made aware and confident about Mission Bhagiratha.  She ordered meetings from the state level to the village level to explain the quality of water to the people.  A review was conducted on Mission Bhagiratha at the Minister’s Secretariat.  People should be explained what kind of problems arise due to Bore water etc.  Mission Bhagiratha should be sensitized to use water.  The minister suggested that panchayats should be prepared so that there is no shortage of drinking water in the coming summer.  (Maxim News)
