Dr Vivek Venkatswamy Holds Pre Budget Review Meeting

Hyderabad, Feb. 14 (Maxim News): Labour and Employment Minister Dr Vivek Venkatswamy held a pre budget review meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat on Saturday.

Dr Vivek reviewed current expenditure, ongoing schemes, budget allocations and financial needs for the next financial year.

During the meeting, Dr Vivek Venkatswamy directed officials to prepare a detailed action plan.

Dr Vivek asked them to streamline existing schemes and improve implementation systems. He also stressed the need to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services to the public.

The Minister instructed officials to prioritise welfare schemes for labourers. He called for quality skill training for youth through Advanced Technology Centres.

In addition, he asked for stronger training programs for trainers in ITIs.

Dr Vivek also directed officials to enhance healthcare services for Insured Persons under ESIC. Moreover, he asked the department to closely follow up on central funds due to the state through ESIC.

Dr Vivek sought a detailed note on budget requirements and projected expenditure.

Dr Vivek Venkatswamy made it clear that no scheme for Insured Persons should suffer due to lack of funds.

Therefore, he directed officials to inform him in advance about financial needs. He assured that he would coordinate with the Finance Minister and the Chief Minister to secure timely fund releases.

While reviewing employment initiatives, the Minister sought a detailed report on overseas placements through TOMCOM.

Dr Vivek instructed officials to ensure that overseas job opportunities are properly implemented.

He also ordered a performance review of Advanced Technology Centres. The review will examine budget use, number of youth trained and placement records.

Dr Vivek observed that strong results would encourage corporate firms such as TATA to extend further support.

Special Chief Secretary Dana Kishore and other senior officials briefed the Minister on fiscal challenges and departmental proposals for the upcoming financial year. (Maxim News)
