  • Maintenance works at Manjeera Phase 3 Peddapur Pump House affect water supply
  • Several areas including Manikonda Kokapet and Narsingi face no water supply

Hyderabad is set to face a temporary disruption in drinking water supply due to major maintenance works at the Manjeera Phase 3 Peddapur Pump House. The works include the replacement of 35 year old HT electrical panels and repairs on key pipelines. Authorities announced that the maintenance activity will begin at 8 AM on March 7, 2026, and continue until 8 PM on March 8, 2026.

During this period, several areas will experience either low pressure or a complete halt in water supply. The disruption is linked to repair works and valve replacement on the 1600 mm pumping main and the 2000 mm gravity main pipelines. Officials said these works are essential to improve the reliability and safety of the system.

Meanwhile, water supply from the Sheikhpet Reservoir will be fully stopped during the maintenance period. At the same time, residents in Bhojagutta will receive water with low pressure. The situation is expected to remain the same until the maintenance works are completed.

Several residential areas will face a complete interruption in supply. These include Manikonda, Kokapet, Narsingi, and Manchirevula. In addition, water supply through Transmission I and Transmission II will also remain fully stopped for the duration of the maintenance works.

Authorities said the temporary shutdown is necessary to replace aging electrical infrastructure and to repair major pipelines connected to the pumping system. The replacement of the 35 year old HT electrical panels is expected to improve operational stability and reduce the risk of future breakdowns.

Therefore, residents in the affected areas have been advised to use water sparingly during the disruption period. Officials also urged households to store adequate water in advance and plan their usage carefully until normal supply resumes after the maintenance works are completed.
