Driver Hired For Rs. 50 Thousand To Transport Ganja, Arrested By Excise Police
Kothagudem/Hyderabad, Oct 1 (Maxim News): A driver who agreed to transport ganja for a payment of Rs. 50 thousand per day’s work landed behind bars.

The driver Mohammed Sharif of Zahirabad was hired by a ganja smuggler Yousuf Sahid Khan of Mumbai to transport ganja from Odisha to Humnabad in Karnataka. As directed by the smuggler the driver went to Odisha and bought 130.7 kg ganja paying Rs. 2.20 lakh.
Based on a tip Khammam excise enforcement police conducted vehicle inspections at the Kunavaram check post at Bhadrachalam on Monday.

Assistant Enforcement Superintendent (AES) Tirupathi, State Task Force (STF) CI Srinivas and the team caught Sharif while he was transporting ganja in a car.
The seized ganja is said to be worth Rs. 37.60 lakh. Sharif was produced before the court after booking a case against him and Sahid Khan.
Director of Enforcement (Prohibition and Excise) VB Kamalasan Reddy appreciated the enforcement team for seizing the ganja. (Maxim News)
