Economic Survey | Hyderabad, Jan. 29: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey 2025 26 in Parliament on Thursday during the 2026 27 Budget Session.

Prepared under the leadership of Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran, the survey projects India’s GDP growth between 6.3 percent and 6.8 percent in the next financial year.

It highlights that India continues stable growth despite global economic uncertainty.

The survey notes that retail inflation is gradually easing and is expected to move closer to the four percent target.

Moreover, moderation in food prices is likely to provide relief to consumers. Improved monsoon conditions are expected to support agricultural growth, while higher rabi output may further soften prices.

Economic Survey 2025 26 highlights growth jobs and investment

The Survey 2025 26 states that India will need to generate nearly 7.85 million new jobs annually by 2030. Therefore, it stresses focused growth in the manufacturing sector.

To achieve the Vikasit Bharat goal by 2047, the survey underlines the need for sustained eight percent growth for the next two decades.

It also calls for increased private investment in artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology.

Meanwhile, the survey highlights significant progress in infrastructure development. Expansion of national highways and the railway network over the past five years has strengthened economic capacity and connectivity across the country.
