- Education Healthcare Priorities highlighted in Assembly speech

Hyderabad, March 26: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that education and healthcare for the poor are top priorities for his government. He stated this while speaking in the Legislative Assembly. He also said the state will become a role model by allocating funds for healthcare.
The Chief Minister said the previous government had kept Rajiv Aarogyasri dues pending. However, he clarified that his government has so far paid Rs. 2,408 crore. He explained that Rs. 927 crore went to government hospitals, while Rs. 1,480 crore was paid to private hospitals. Therefore, he stressed that clearing these dues was a key step.
Meanwhile, he said that CMRF cheques worth Rs. 2,046 crore were distributed during his government’s tenure. He added that corruption had taken place in the past regarding these cheques. Then, he stated that during the 27-month Congress government rule, Rs. 4,500 crore was spent for the treatment of the poor. He used these figures to underline the government’s focus on healthcare.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that patients are not going to teaching colleges. Therefore, he said the management of these colleges will be handed over to Group-1 officers. He explained that this step aims to improve administration and services.
Further, he said a new scheme has been introduced to provide life insurance to every family. He also noted that the government is considering using the services of expert doctors from abroad. Meanwhile, he shared that Osmania Hospital is being built on 30 acres in Goshamahal at a cost of Rs. 3,000 crore. He said steps have been taken to speed up the work.
Finally, he said the government is open to suggestions and recommendations. He assured that any useful input will be accepted.
