Hyderabad: Devotees observing Ekadashi March 2026 will mark two important fasting days this month. Papmochani Ekadashi and Kamada Ekadashi hold special religious importance in the Hindu calendar. Devotees believe fasting on these days brings spiritual benefits.
According to the Hindu calendar, there are 24 Ekadashi days in a year. Each Ekadashi is dedicated to the worship of Vishnu and holds separate religious significance. Observers believe prayers on this day help reduce hardships and bring peace.
The first Ekadashi in March is Papmochani Ekadashi. The second is Kamada Ekadashi, which is considered the first Ekadashi of the Hindu New Year cycle.
Ekadashi March 2026 Dates and Significance
Papmochani Ekadashi falls in the Krishna Paksha of the Chaitra month. According to the Panchang, the Ekadashi tithi begins on March 14 at 8:10 am. It ends on March 15 at 9:16 am.
Based on the Udaya Tithi rule, Papmochani Ekadashi will be observed on March 15, 2026. Devotees believe observing this fast helps remove past sins and brings peace and stability in life.
Kamada Ekadashi falls in the Shukla Paksha of the Chaitra month. This year, Kamada Ekadashi will be observed on March 29, 2026. Religious beliefs state that worship on this day may help fulfil wishes and bring positive energy.
Devotees usually begin the Ekadashi fast early in the morning after a ritual bath. They wear clean clothes and take a vow to observe the fast with devotion. During the पूजा, devotees offer flowers, fruits, incense, and lamps to Lord Vishnu.
Offering sweets and Tulsi leaves is considered auspicious. Many devotees also chant Vishnu Sahasranama or other Vishnu mantras during the day. Observers generally keep a day long fast and perform evening prayers.
The fast is traditionally concluded on the Dwadashi day after morning prayers. Devotees believe sincere observance of Ekadashi March 2026 may bring blessings of peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth.
