Election Commission Green Signal For Crop Damage Compensation

Hyderabad, April 30 (Maxim News): The Telangana Agriculture Department officials said that the Election Commission has given permission to the State government to pay compensation to farmers for the damage caused by hail and untimely rains last month.

Officials said that the process of payments will be done. It is known that the agriculture department has confirmed that 15,814 acres of crops were damaged due to hail and untimely rains in March.

The agriculture department said that crops have been damaged in all ten districts. Various crops of 15,246 farmers were damaged. The government has decided to give a total compensation of Rs. 15.81 crore to all of them at the rate of Rs. 10 thousand per acre.

Whereas, during the previous government’s regime, crops were damaged due to severe rains last year.  Rs. 10 thousand compensation was given. It has been decided to give compensation in the same way now.  (Maxim News)
