Election Of Kothagudem MLA Vanama Invalid: High Court’s Sensational Verdict

Hyderabad, July, 25 (Maxim News):  The Telangana High Court has given the sensational decision.  Kothagudem MLA Vanama  Venkateswara Rao ruled that the election was invalid.  

It may be recalled that the then-rival Jalagam Venkatrao filed a petition alleging that he had given false information in the 2018 election affidavit.  The High Court, which has taken up the trial on this, has given its verdict today,  Jalagam announced Venkatarao as the current MLA in the elections held in 2018 has contested on behalf of the Congress party and Jalagam Venkata Rao on behalf of the TRS (now BRS) contested as MLA candidate from Kothagudem constituency.  Vanama won that election.  challenging his election, Jalagam Venkata Rao approach the High Court in 2019.  A petition was filed alleging that false information was given in the election affidavit.  Wanted to declare Vanama disqualified.  After a long trial, the High Court agreed with the arguments of Jalagam Venkat Rao.  He was fined Rs. 5 lahks for intentionally giving false information.  

After the elections, Vanama Venkateswara Rao left Congress and joined BRS.  Currently, Jalagam Venkata Rao is also continuing in the same party.  (Maxim News)
