Hyderabad, June 3: A 22 year old engineering graduate drowned while bathing in a water filled pit in Medchal on Tuesday evening, police said.
The deceased was identified as Kavali Upender, a resident of Pudur village in Medchal district.
According to Medchal police, Upender had gone to a nearby water filled pit along with his friends for a bath. During the outing, he allegedly slipped into deep water and drowned.
After receiving information about the incident, police personnel rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations.
The body was later recovered and shifted to a government hospital for postmortem examination.
Police said Upender had recently completed his B.Tech degree from a private engineering college.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the drowning.
The incident has left family members and local residents in shock.
