Errabelli Holds Tele-Conference With people’s Reps, Officials, Police on Bathukamma festival
Hyderabad, Sept.24 (Maxim News): Panchayati Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today said all arrangements were made for the Bathukammal festival on a grand scale.
Addressing people’s representatives and officials in a teleconference, the minister said all arrangements were made at lakes and other water bodies for immersion of Bathukammas with colorful electrification and elaborate bandobast to avoid untoward incidents.
Dayakar Rao also warned that severe punishment will be given to those who dared to insult and ridicule the Bathukamma saris which will be distributed on the occasion. He also requested the people’s representatives and officials to work in coordination.
He also reminded the people that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao started the noble practice of the State government organizing festivals of all the people belonging to all religions after he assumed office eight years ago.
Unlike in any part of the country, the Batukamma festival was being celebrated in the State in a grand manner. He exhorted the people in the State to celebrate the Bathukamma festival in a grand manner as usual.
In view of Saddula Bathukamma followed by Bathukamma and Dasara festivals beginning from Sunday, the minister held a teleconference on Saturday with the people’s representatives, officials, police, and ruling party leaders of Palakurthy Mandal, Devaruppala, Kodakandla, Pedda Vangara, Torruru, and Rayaparthy Mandal and directed them to oversee the arrangements for all the festivities.
Reminding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao proclaimed Bathukamma celebrations as a State festival, the minister said every year Bathukamma sarees were being distributed to over one crore women free as a festival gift.
For this, the State government was spending Rs 339.73 crore and providing enough work for handloom weavers all over the year. He also said he would tour all parts of the constituency this year as usual. (Maxim News)
