Fact Check: Fake Audio Added to Video of CM Revanth Reddy’s Tank Bund Visit
- Misleading Video Circulates on Social Media
Fact Check | Hyderabad, Sept. 8: A video claiming that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to Tank Bund during Ganesh idol immersion was marked by the playing of BRS party songs is being widely circulated on social media.
A fact-check reveals that the viral video has been digitally altered with fake audio.
The original footage, recorded on September 6 during the Chief Minister’s sudden visit to Tank Bund, only captured road traffic and background voices of the crowd.
At no point were BRS songs played on the occasion of his arrival. The music was later added artificially before being shared online to mislead viewers.
Fact Check | Public Urged Not to Fall for Propaganda
Officials clarified that the Chief Minister’s visit was peaceful and witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees.
Supporters of Revanth Reddy joined him in chanting “Ganapati Bappa Morya” and encouraged citizens during the immersion process.
The Chief Minister also watched the immersion for some time along with the public.
This was the first time a sitting Chief Minister personally attended the Ganesh idol immersion programme at Tank Bund, marking a significant moment.
However, misinformation in the form of doctored videos has been used to spread false propaganda.
Authorities have requested people not to share or believe in such misleading content and to verify facts before forwarding videos on social media platforms.
