A family died by suicide after being hit by a train betweenCherlapalli and Ghatkesar railway stations, railway police said. The Cherlapalli Ghatkesar train suicide involved a software employee and her two children. The incident occurred late on Saturday night, according to officials.

The deceased were identified as Pinninti Vijaya alias Vijayashanti Reddy, 38, and her children Chaitanya Reddy, 18, and Vishal Reddy, 17. They were residents of Chengicherla Harithavanam Colony in Boduppal. Meanwhile, police said the family reached Cherlapalli railway station in their car before the incident.

Later, the three went onto the tracks and came in front of a goods train heading toward Sanathnagar. As a result, all three died on the spot. The loco pilot noticed the incident and immediately informed Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police personnel. Therefore, officials reached the location soon after receiving the alert.

Railway staff seized the bodies and sent them to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination. Police confirmed the case as suicide after they did not find railway tickets with the deceased. However, officials said the investigation is still in progress.

Vijayashanti Reddy worked as a team leader in a software company in Hitech City. Her husband, Surender Reddy, works in Dubai. Meanwhile, their two children were studying in a college hostel in Patancheru. According to police, Vijaya brought the children home on Friday night.

Later, after midnight, CCTV footage showed her arriving at Cherlapalli railway station in her own car. Then, the fatal incident occurred. Railway police said they registered a case and began a detailed probe into the Cherlapalli Ghatkesar train suicide.

There were reports that a suicide note was found in the car. However, railway police have not confirmed this information. Therefore, officials said they would rely only on verified evidence. They also stated that the reasons behind the suicide remain unknown at this stage.

Meanwhile, police are examining CCTV footage and other available material. They are also contacting relatives to gather more details. The Cherlapalli Ghatkesar train suicide has raised concerns, although officials stressed that conclusions will follow only after the investigation ends.
