Father Commits Suicide Due To Daughter’s Love Marriage

Chityal/Hyderabad, April 13 (Maxim News):  A father, upset after his daughter left home and got married for love, committed suicide by consuming weed killer.  The incident took place in Chityala, Nalgonda district.  The daughter (18) of Remudala Gattaiah (46) of Chityala has been missing since March 8.  Following this, the Chityala police have registered a missing persons case based on Gattaiah’s complaint.

However, 3 days after leaving home, Gattaiah’s daughter went to the SP’s office and said that she had married a young man named Udari Yadagiri out of love and requested protection from her family members.  The police told Gattaiah this.  With this, Gattaiah pleaded with the Chityala police to let his daughter speak to him.

As the police expressed helplessness, Gattaiah had been appealing to several police officers and public representatives for a month.  However, feeling that justice was not being served to him, he took a grass-killing medicine on Friday afternoon at his agricultural land on the outskirts of Chityala town.  Gattaiah’s family members took him to a private hospital in Hyderabad, where he died on Friday night while undergoing treatment.

On Saturday morning, relatives and family members of the deceased reached the Chityala police station in large numbers and protested.

Narkatpally CI K.Nagaraju reached there and spoke to Gattaiah’s daughter on the phone.  She said that she knew about her father’s death, but she was in Mumbai and would not return.  With this, the family members of the deceased called off the protest.  (Maxim News)
