Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a warehouse containing spare parts of vehicles in Telangana’s Shankarpally area on Saturday night, February 28. The incident occurred at the Rohith Automobiles and Spare Parts godown located on Chevella Road.
According to reports, the fire started late in the night. Soon after receiving information, fire officials rushed to the spot. They reached the warehouse and began efforts to control the flames. Later, they managed to put out the fire.
Officials suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire. However, they are still examining the exact reason. Meanwhile, authorities have not confirmed the final cause of the incident.
Speaking to Siasat.com, a Telangana fire department duty officer said, “The fire occurred late in the night and Chevella authorities received a call at 5:AM.” He confirmed that teams responded after the alert. Therefore, emergency services acted quickly to prevent further damage.
Two fire engines were used to douse the flames. Fire personnel worked to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading to nearby areas. Meanwhile, no information was shared about injuries.
The estimated loss due to the fire is under investigation. Officials are assessing the damage caused to the spare parts stored inside the godown. They are also checking whether safety norms were followed at the warehouse.
The Shankarpally warehouse fire has raised concerns about fire safety in storage facilities. Authorities are expected to complete the inquiry after examining all factors related to the incident.
