Hyderabad, August 12: Gachibowli Police and the EAGLE team arrested a former University of Hyderabad student in a drug supply case.
Police identified the accused as Biswajit Kalita, alias Biswa, 28. He currently lives in Gopanpally and works as an actor trainer.
Police arrested him on Tuesday on the university campus. They seized 5 grams of ganja from his possession.
Police Probe Ganja Supply On UoH Campus
Police registered the case on August 7 after receiving information about drug consumption at the Men’s L Hostel.
During the investigation, a student allegedly told police that Biswa supplied him 10 grams of dried ganja for ₹500.
Based on the information, Gachibowli Police and the EAGLE team traced Biswa to the campus and arrested him.
Police said Biswa was also wanted in an earlier drug case registered at Gachibowli Police Station.
Meanwhile, investigators are tracing the source of the ganja. They are also checking whether others were involved in the alleged supply network.
