Free Aadhaar Update: Aadhaar Free Document Upload Deadline Extended Once Again

Hyderabad, June 14 (Maxim News): The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar. The decision was taken as the deadline for uploading relevant documents for free was about to end today (June 14).

It posted on X that this opportunity is being provided for another year till June 14, 2026. UIDAI said that it is once again providing an opportunity for free uploading of documents to keep Aadhaar updated, which will benefit lakhs of people. These documents can be uploaded for free through the My Aadhaar portal.

Udai is providing this facility to Aadhaar holders to maintain current and accurate information in the Aadhaar database. For this, it is allowing you to update your Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents online for free. Some people shift to different places due to marriage, higher studies and other reasons. This will be useful for such people. Also, Udai has already advised those who have completed ten years of Aadhaar to update their details. Earlier, a fee of Rs. 50 was required at Aadhaar centers to update the details.

To update Aadhaar online for free, you must first log in to the UIDAI website with your Aadhaar number.

As soon as you log in with the OTP to your registered mobile number, your existing details will appear on the screen.

Check whether all the details are correct or not. If there are any corrections, make them. Or verify the existing details and click on Next.

Then select the documents using the drop-down list that appears. Upload the scanned copies of the documents and click on Submit.

You will receive a 14-digit ‘Update Request Number’. Through this, you can check the status of the update from time to time (Maxim News)
