Free Vaccination To All in Telangana: Congress
Hyderabad: The State unit of the Congress accused both Central and State Governments of failure in controlling the spread of Coronavirus and demanded free universal vaccination to save people from the pandemic.
A delegation of Congress leaders led by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) N Uttam Kumar Reddy submitted a memorandum in this regard to Governor Tamilisai Sounderarajan at Raj Bhavan on Friday.
Addressing media persons, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress conveyed its anguish to the President through the memorandum submitted to the Governor. He demanded that vaccine should be given free of cost to all adult population. “The target of vaccinating all the adults by December 31 cannot be achieved unless one crore persons are vaccinated every day. At the present pace of vaccination, it would take three years to achieve the target of vaccinating all adults of the country,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said.
Alleging that the State government failed to arrange medical facilities and medicines in the State, he demanded that Covid and Black Fungus should be included in Arogyasri Scheme immediately.
He said that Satyagraha Deekshas would be held on June 7 at State headquarters and district headquarters demanding free treatment to Covid and Black Fungus patients.
