French Delegation visits MANUU
Hyderabad: A high level Delegation from France visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today to witness the urban water management carried out by MANUU. The University has recently received the National Water Award. The French Delegation is visiting Hyderabad to develop a project with the Government of Telangana on Urban Water Management.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor welcomed the experts from Les Ateliers de Cergy, France, Mr. Simon Brochard, project coordinator alongwith two other members Ms. Florance Bougnous and Mr. Jean Grebert. Les Ateliers is a non Governmental organization which gathers Universities decision makers and professionals dedicated to planning, development and urban design.
Three experts from French Embassy, New Delhi Ms. Marion Velut, Regional Advisor for Environment and, Sustainable City and Mobility, Ms. Soana Grave and Ms. Feli Visco and other guests Dr. Pandit Madhurne, Director Telangana State Ground Water Department (TSGWD), Hyderabad and Mr. Srinivas Bairy, Senior Engineer , Central Water Commission accompanied the delegation.
Prof. Ainul Hasan briefed them about special work carried out by MANUU on water conservation and management. He also indicated about the possibility of MANUU’s participation in the proposed project. Mr. Srinivas Bairy presented Ground Water Atlas of Telangana State to the Vice Chancellor.
Prof. Shakeel Ahmed, Chairman, Jal Shakti Committee, MANUU presented a power point about the special drive on water management in MANUU. Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, Convenor welcomed the guests. Prof. Salma Ahmed Farooqui and Prof. Salman Ahmad Khan were also present.
The visiting delegation also inspected the MANUU Campus.
