‘Gau Rakshak’ Shot In Hyderabad, BJP Blames AIMIM

Hyderabad: A self-proclaimed gau rakshak (cow protector) sustained grievous gunshot injuries after being allegedly shot by a cattle trader in Rampally village, Medchal, on Wednesday night.

The victim, identified as Sonu Singh alias Prashanth, a resident of Rampally who works at a local gaushala, reportedly confronted the accused, Ibrahim, a cattle trader from Hyderabad.

According to police sources, this was not their first altercation. Singh had earlier intercepted Ibrahim’s vehicle twice over alleged cattle transportation.

On Wednesday, under the pretext of resolving the dispute, Ibrahim allegedly lured Singh to an open real estate site in Rampally and shot him.

Victim in Stable Condition

Singh sustained bullet injuries to his chest and abdomen. He was initially taken to a private hospital in Uppal and later shifted to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, where doctors said his condition is stable and out of danger.

Following the incident, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Sudheer Babu visited the spot and reviewed the situation. Police have formed special teams to trace and arrest Ibrahim, who is currently absconding.

Political Leaders Visit Injured Singh

Meanwhile, Telangana BJP president Ramachander Rao, Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, and MP Etala Rajender visited the injured Singh at the hospital.

Hindutva outfit Bajrang Dal has demanded Ibrahim’s immediate arrest by Thursday morning.
