GHMC Budget Proposal With Unite Merged Areas

Hyderabad, Dec 6 (Maxim News) GHMC budget proposals are being prepared for the financial year 2026-27 to include as many local bodies as possible.  Although they continued as corporations and municipalities until now, after GO 264, all these areas were merged into Greater.  Along with this, GHMC rule continues here.

However, the term of the governing bodies here ended last year. In this context, the GHMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor are also continuing in these areas.  With this, the budget is being finalized by taking into account the 20 merged municipalities and seven corporations for the next financial year.  The GHMC Council approved a budget of Rs. 8,440 crore for the current financial year last year.

However, it is learnt that budget estimate proposals have been prepared for the merged areas.  Estimates of over Rs. 2000 crore have been prepared for all the local bodies, and the total budget of Rs. 11,050 crore is likely to be approved by the standing committee.  The budget will then be given the green signal in the council meeting.  (Maxim News)
