GHMC Commr Holds Meet With Health Officials On Water Borne Diseases

Hyderabad, Aug.23 (Maxim News): GHMC will take -up massive Health Camps and awareness campaign on Friday (Dry Day) and fogging and spraying operations in schools also, said the Commissioner Dana Kishore, here today.

At a review meeting on vector and water borne diseases with the DMHOs of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal Districts, the Commissioner enquired the status of the various kinds of diseases (fever) i.e., Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, etc., in each district and instructed them to conduct the remaining 200 health camps by August 26 /27, as already 300 health camps were conducted out of 500 health camps target for August month.

The DMHOs informed the Commissioner that special desks provided to look after the seasonal diseases and the timings of outpatient period is extended up to 4 PM. These special desks consist of Medical Officers headed by General Physician. In Gandhi Hospital -6 and Osmania General Hospital – 5 .

Further, the Commissioner, instructed the DMHOs to conduct another 695 health camps by 15th of September and create awareness on implementation of Friday – Dry Day by distributing pamphlets and door stickers. Also involve private hospitals to conduct health camps at local areas and also with the organizations like Lion’s Club and Rotary club etc. The Commissioner also asked them to involve the MLAs and local representatives in the localities and in Basti dhawakhanas where health camps conducted.

The Commissioner instructed the Entomology officials to intensify the fogging and spraying operations in all localities and at nalas and water bodies also. Further to take the fogging and spraying in schools.

In order to get comprehensive report on number of cases registered, the Commissioner suggested to create software programme by Addl. Commissioner (Health), Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal DMHOs so as to enable the hospitals and Diagnostic laboratories in GHMC limits to update the seasonal fever and viral fever cases on the site, according to data base available the official’s machinery will take action immediately to control such diseases and in respective areas. Further, the Commissioner instructed the Zonal Commissioners to ensure at least 50 Health camps by private Hospitals be conducted in their respective zone.
