GHMC Council meeting on Jan 31 for 2026–27 budget approval

GHMC Council meeting | Hyderabad, Jan. 29 (Maxim News): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation council will meet on January 31 to discuss and approve the GHMC budget for the 2026–27 financial year.

The general body meeting will be held at the GHMC head office and will be chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi.

Importantly, this session assumes significance as the present GHMC council term is set to end in February 2026.

The proposed GHMC budget, estimated at over Rs 11,000 crore, will be the key agenda item during the meeting.

Officials are expected to place the final budget document before the council for discussion and approval.

GHMC Council meeting focus on budget and CRMP works

Ahead of the meeting, the Standing Committee is scheduled to convene on Thursday. During this meeting, members will deliberate on several proposals linked to civic infrastructure.

According to sources, road maintenance works under the Comprehensive Road Maintenance Programme Phase 2 are likely to dominate discussions.

The committee’s recommendations will be placed before the council for final clearance.

Each agenda item will be reviewed in the context of financial allocations, as the corporation prepares for its final budget session under the current elected body.
