GHMC Deputy Mayor flags off 2K walk for Women’s Day celebrations at Kamineni Hospitals

Hyderabad, March 8 (Maxim News): On the occasion of International Women’s Day today, Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, Hyderabad, organised a ‘MEN’S WALK’ to create awareness about the importance of women’s health in society. Smt. Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy, Deputy Mayor of Hyderabad has flagged off 2K walk which has begun from Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, to LB Nagar Cross Road and back. More than 1,000 people participated in this walk on the theme ‘Women, Your Health First’. The uniqueness of this walk was that Male doctors and staff undertook the walk in support of Women doctors and staff, with the aim of supporting women in the healthcare sector.

“In today’s extremely stressful times, competitive and undisciplined lifestyles, working women neglect their own health. Women care for their whole family but take a back step, become negligent when it comes to their own health. We might have commonly heard that women do not need to worry too much about diseases because they have good immunity and patience. This mentality is typical and has been an unhealthy practice for many women who prioritize the well-being of the family over their own health, which is one of the biggest health mistakes women make and need to change,” said Dr. Vasundhara Kamineni, Director, Kamineni Hospitals.

Speaking on the occasion Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy congratulated Kamineni Hospitals for taking this initiative to create awareness about the importance of women’s health in society. “Women are excelling in all fields and still there is a lot of scope for women to rise further. Setting up of SHE teams to ensure the safety and security of women at all places and schemes such as KCR Kits to take care of the health of new mothers are aimed at empowering women. The Telangana Government under the dynamic leadership of KCR is determined to improve the standards of the Health Care Sector and strengthen the position of Hyderabad as Leading Medicare city in the country,” said Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy, Deputy Mayor of Hyderabad.

“Right from managing households, to office work and social engagements — women are considered great in multitasking. But, it is very common for them to neglect their health issues. Rising cases of heart diseases, diabetes and hypertension in women are enough evidence of the fact that women neglect their health. Leadership diversity and gender equality are the two critical ingredients that a hospital needs to address. This will encourage women doctors/staff to seek higher levels of professional achievement and success, “said Dr. Gayatri Kamineni, COO, Kamineni Hospitals.

Kamineni Hospitals, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, introduced a FREE PREVENTIVE HEALTH CHECKUP package to make women’s health a top priority and make it affordable for every woman. This package is available in all Kamineni Hospital branches (King Koti, LB Nagar & Vijayawada). This offer is valid from March 7 – 31. (Maxim News)
