GHMC Mayor inspects Sanathnagar Nala works

Hyderabad, March.2 (Maxim News): GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi today directed the officials concerned to expedite the Sanathnagar-Erragadda Nala canal works and complete them before the onset of monsoon.

The Mayor, on Wednesday, made surprise inspection of Sanathnagar Nala works taken up from AG Colony to Erragadda at a cost of Rs 12.86 crore and directed the officials to speed up the works and ensure that the citizens do not face problems during floods. She reminded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had instructed Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao to get the prestigious Nala Development project works completed before onset of the monsoon season.

The Mayor said 60 works were taken up in the first phase at an estimated cost of Rs 858 crore and the works would be completed on war-footing by rainy season. She said 37 works under GHMC jurisdiction and 23 works under the adjoining municipalities were being executed. She also directed the officials concerned to send daily progress reports of the ongoing works.

GHMC Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran, Superintending Engineer Bhaskar Reddy and others accompanied the Mayor during the inspection. (Maxim News)
