GHMC Mayor Warns Authorities To Address Public Grievances Vigilantly

Hyderabad, July 16: Mayor of GHMC Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said that if the people of GHMC face difficulties, they will not tolerate it and the authorities should work vigilantly.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi held a review meeting with concerned GHMC officials, electrical department, water works, entomology, town planning, and sanitation officials along with Borabanda corporator Mohammad Baba Fasiuddin on the development works related to Serilingampally zone – Yusuf Guda circle Borabanda division on Tuesday at GHMC head office.

Speaking on this occasion, Mayor Vijayalakshmi directed the concerned officials to focus on public issues and solve the problems by doing their work so that the people do not face any problems. Various suggestions were made to the officials of the respective departments regarding the pending construction of community halls, CC road works, winding of the Borabanda main road, maintenance of street lights, sanitation maintenance, etc. in the Borabanda division.

Electricity department officials have been advised to install fencing at all transformers and especially to install street lights in identified dark areas so that there is no loss of life during the rainy season, as chances of short circuits are high. He advised the concerned officials to put an iron foot on ganja and drugs and for that, with the cooperation of the police department, steps should be taken to install CCTV cameras in suspected areas. It is suggested that good water pollution prevention measures should be taken and people should be made aware not to waste water.

All officials should work together with the plan to remove the horse hoof in the pond. The DC has been advised to give the details of sanctioned and pending works to take up the pending works of roads on a priority basis. Officials should be alert in the wake of rains and de-silting should be done as a regular process. She warned that silting should not be a hindrance to the vessels and that action will be taken against the concerned authorities if they cause problems to the people.

The concerned officials were directed to pay special attention to the problems related to water works. He said that water should be removed from time to time at water stagnation points. There should be no garbage at the GVPs and sanitation management should be proper. Ranki services should be fully utilized. He said to monitor the performance of Ram Ki and Soma agencies. Veterinary officials have been advised not to release sterilized dogs immediately but to observe them for two to three days.
