Hyderabad, Nov.15 (Maxim News): Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development KT Rama Rao has directed to conduct a l0 day special drive for collection of C&D waste from all the public places / road side by all the Zonal Commissioners of GHMC in their respective jurisdiction, so that the problem of debris is resolved.
This was stated by the GHMC Commissioner, in a circular to Zonal, Deputy commissioners and AMOHs. The Commissioner said that as noticed from field inspection, the concerned field functionaries are not paying requisite attention to the issue of unauthorized dumping of debris by the public in both residential and commercial areas. It is also noticed that penalties are not imposed on a regular basis and no proper monitoring is being done leading to formation of C&D Vulnerable Point (CDVP).
It is also informed by Hyderabad C&D waste pvt ltd (HCDWPL), the concessionaire for C&D project of GHMC, that no pickup slips are being generated by the concerned authorized officials (AMOHs) due to which the 25 tonner vehicles engaged by them are lying idle. It may be noted that the field functionaries shall take responsibility to re-heap the smaller quantities of debris lying at inaccessible points from into a reasonable size of such that the same shall be lifted by the 25 tonner vehicle of HCDWPL.
The Commissioner said in view of the above, it is decided to conduct a special drive for collection of debris by all the Zonal Commissioners between 20.11.2019 to 29.11.2019 during which period all the Zonal Commissioners should ensure that their designated officials shall ensure re-heaping of smaller dumps at designated point and raise the pickup slips and post the update of issuing pickup slips in the C&D group by evening everyday to enable the HCDWPL lift the same within a day for achieving this objective. All the Zonal Commissioners are advised to redeploy the vehicles and in case of any shortfall hire the additional vehicle (only for a period of l0 days).
All the Zonal Commissioners of CHMC are hereby directed to personally prepare the plan, monitor and submit report on daily basis.
The Minister further desired to assess the success of this program by conducting a review after completion of the drive, the Commissioner added. (Maxim News)
