GHMC trade licence schedule revised for 2026
Hyderabad, Nov. 21 (Maxim News): GHMC trade licence schedule for the 2026 cycle changed after the civic body revised key dates. The update covers renewal of existing licences and issue of new licences for the period from January 1 2026 to December 31 2026.
The rules follow the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Byelaws. These byelaws normally require applicants to file forms thirty days before the licence expiry date. Yet the Model Code of Conduct for the Jubilee Hills by election forced a clear change in the timeline. The Model Code of Conduct delayed the process by twenty days.
GHMC trade licence schedule now sets December 20 2025 as the last day to apply without any penalty. This allows traders more time to prepare documents. The civic body said the new window aims to avoid confusion.
It also aims to ensure equal access during the election period. The move offers relief to small and medium traders who renew on a yearly basis. Moreover, the revised schedule sets clear penalty slabs.
GHMC will collect a twenty five percent penalty from December 21 2025 to February 19 2026. This covers a delay period of up to sixty days.
From February 20 2026 onward, traders must pay a fifty percent penalty. These rules apply to all commercial units that fall under the GHMC Act. Officials advised traders to meet the early deadline to avoid extra cost. They also urged applicants to use online services to reduce rush at circle offices.
Furthermore, the rules include Telangana Green Fund charges. GHMC trade licence schedule states that the Green Fund fee will apply at ten percent of the licence fee for amounts up to five thousand rupees.
The fee will round off to the next fifty rupees. For licence fees above five thousand rupees, the Green Fund charge will be one thousand rupees.
Officials said the Green Fund supports tree planting and urban green cover programmes.
The civic body will release awareness material across all circles. It plans to send SMS alerts and issue public notices. GHMC teams will also coordinate with trade bodies to ensure fast communication.
Traders now prepare to meet the December 20 deadline. The updated GHMC trade licence schedule gives clarity and a full timeline for the 2026 cycle. (Maxim News)
