GITAM Celebrates National Unity Day
Hyderabad, Oct.31 (Maxim News): Remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution in creating a modern India post independence, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was celebrated in GITAM Deemed-to-be University, here today.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM, highlighted the great efforts made by Vallabhbhai Patel, who played an instrumental role in India’s struggle for independence, and later during the integration of the country. Present-day India owes an immeasurable debt of gratitude to the vision, tact, diplomacy and pragmatic approach of Sardar Patel, the indomitable man who integrated 562 princely states with the Union of India and prevented the Balkanisation of the newly-independent country. He administered a Pledge of ‘Rastriya Ekta’. A good number of faculty GITAMites took part in the Pledge Ceremony.
Prof. G.A.Rama Rao, Principal, School of Science, HoDs of various departments, faculty, NSS Coordinator Dr. P.V.Nagendra Kumar and students were also present on this occasion.(Maxim News)
