Global Alumni Meet held at University College of Engineering, Osmania University

Global Alumni Meet | Hyderabad, May 1 (Maxim News): The Alumni Association of the University College of Engineering, Osmania University, organized the Global Alumni Meet on Monday. The event was graced by distinguished guests from the industry and academia.

A. Gopal Rao, CMD, Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd. (NPDCL), Warangal, and Prof. D. Ravinder, Vice-Chancellor, of Osmania University, were the chief guests for the event.

The guests of honor were Prof. S. Ramachandram, Patron Alumni Association & former Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University and N.V.K. Srinivas, Director (Operations), Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. Dr. D. Vijay Kumar, President Alumni Association University College of Engineering, Osmania University, welcomed the guests and presented the activities of the Association.

Dr. Kumar highlighted the association’s achievements, including the sponsorship of two Professor Chairs, one each by Coal India Ltd. and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd., and the funding of the construction of the Classroom Complex for the Department of Electronics and Communication by Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. He also highlighted the formation of the Osmania Foundation as an umbrella organization for all alumni associations of colleges under Osmania.

A. Gopal Rao, CMD, Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd. (NPDCL), Warangal, appreciated the alumni’s efforts in giving back to their Alma Mater and shared memories of his college days at Osmania. Prof. D. Ravinder, Vice-Chancellor, of Osmania University, appealed to the alumni to share their intellectual knowledge and mentor the university to compete globally.

Prof. S. Ramachandram, Patron of, the Alumni Association & former Vice-Chancellor, of Osmania University, expressed his happiness at seeing how the Alumni Association had taken shape in the past seven years after its revival in 2015. Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, Principal, University College of Engineering, Osmania University, acknowledged the alumni’s efforts in the overall development of the institution.

The event concluded with the felicitation of A. Gopal Rao, CMD, Northern Power Distribution Company Ltd., and N.V.K. Srinivas, Director (Operations), Singareni Collieries Company Ltd., for their contribution to the industry and academia. (Maxim News)
