Godavari Surges At Bhadrachalam; First Danger Warning Issued
Bhadrachalam is on high alert as the Godavari river continues to swell following incessant rains and heavy inflows from the upper reaches. The water level at Bhadrachalam reached 43 feet by 8:15 AM today, prompting officials to issue the first danger warning. Currently, around 9.32 lakh cusecs of water is flowing downstream.
The rising floodwaters have submerged the steps of the bathing ghats, and water has reached up to the Kalyana Katta. Authorities have advised devotees to stay away from the river for their safety. Precautionary measures, including the deployment of yard swimmers and boats, have been taken to prevent accidents.

Godavari: Second Warning At 48 Feet And Third At 53
In some areas, the situation has worsened—Nara Sarees and the idol of Seethamma at Parnasala are under water. Officials have clarified that if the water level touches 48 feet, a second danger warning will be issued, and if it reaches 53 feet, the third danger warning will follow.
Downstream, the river is flowing with even greater force. At the Cotton Barrage in Dowleswaram (Andhra Pradesh), the inflow stands at 7.38 lakh cusecs, with the same volume being released downstream. Local authorities and SDRF teams are on alert as a precaution. Residents of low-lying areas, particularly Lanka villages, have been warned to stay vigilant.
