Godavari Water Level Reached 50 Feet: 2nd Warning Issued
Bhadrachalam/Hyderabad, July 22 (Maxim News): River Godavari is flowing rapidly near Bhadrachalam due to heavy rain in the upper reaches, the tributaries overflowed and the Godavari became flooded. 50 feet water level was recorded in the Godavari river at Bhadrachalam, in this background, the authorities have issued a second danger warning.
It is reported that heavy flood water from Indrawati Pranahita tributaries is meeting in Godavari. Officials said that in the backdrop of heavy rains in the upper state of Chhattisgarh, heavy flood water is entering the Taliperu medium-sized project in the lower Charla Mandal. Officials are making preparations to release the water into Godavari by lifting twenty-one gates of the project.
Central Water Resources Commission (CWC) officials are predicting that the flood will register around 11.50 lakh cusecs and reach 51.20 feet by 0 pm today. At present, Godavari at Bhadrachalam appears to be calming down, but it is likely to flow beyond 53 feet on Tuesday night, the Central Water Resources Commission said. (Maxim News)
