Golconda Bonalu On July 4: Talasani
Hyderabad, June 19 (Maxim News): Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav instructed officials concerned to hold traditional Bonalu festival on a grand scale. At Golconda fort, he held a review meeting with the officials on the Bonalu festival at Mahankali Goddess temple on July 4.
The minister informed that the State government allotted Rs 15 crore for conducting the festivities in the twin cities to mark the auspicious Ashada month. Srinivas Yadav said “Bonalu,” the State festival will be held at Golconda, Secunderabad and Old City on July 4, 21 and 28 respectively.
Srinivas Yadav asked the officials to spruce up the Golconda fort with enticing lighting and provide all facilities in advance. Power supply, roads and pandals, barricades, traffic regulation and others are key for the successful conduct of the festivities, he said, adding that the famous Golconda Bonalu will be held on July 4, Secunderabad Mahankali Bonalu on July 21 an Old City Bonalu on July 28 respectively.
The minister said the GHMC is to spend Rs 3 crore now out of proposals worth Rs 22 crore to provide facilities like roads, repairs, power supply, lighting of historic places and monuments, sanitation and about three lakh drinking water packets, he informed. He also said the officials will take steps for barricading, power supply using additional transformers. For Bonalu at other places, the officials were asked to run extra trips of Metro Rail to shift devotes for Bonalu, besides parking and security. (Maxim News)
