The project, which commenced in November 2024, has driven significant advancements in renewable energy and clean mobility solutions within the zoo. Over the past few months, the initiative has successfully introduced electric vehicles for staff and visitor transport, including 13 EV bikes with carriers for animal care staff, 6 EV bikes for other staff and 6 battery-operated buggies for visitors, and installed 80 solar street lights at various locations in the park. These efforts have positioned Nehru Zoological Park as a model for sustainability and environmental stewardship in India.

The handover ceremony was attended by key stakeholders and project partners, including Mr. Paul Raddon, Head of HSBC Global Service Centres, who celebrated the project’s achievements and its impact on sustainable conservation efforts.
