Gold Rates today – 13 May 2022

Gold Rates today | Gold prices edged lower in Indian markets after a sharp drop in the previous session.

On MCX, gold futures were down 0.03% to ₹50,158 per 10 gram while silver rose 0.3% to Rs. 58,920 per kg. In the previous session gold had dropped 1.2% while silver slumped Rs. 2,000 or 3.3%. So far this week, gold prices are down about ₹1,500 per 10 gram.

The recent correction in gold has nearly wiped out gains from a rally driven by safe-haven demand after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February. In early March, gold had risen closer to Rs. 56,000 levels.

Gold Rates today

In contrast with yesterday’s trend when yellow metal witnessed a hike, gold prices are retailing on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Friday, May 13.

Gold futures, maturing on June 3, 2022, have witnessed a downfall of Rs 59 or 0.12 per cent, and are trading at Rs 50,249 per 10 grams.

On the other hand, silver futures, maturing on July 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 59,031 per kg, with a marginal hike of Rs 49 or 0.08 per cent.

On May 12, while gold prices recorded a hike, silver rates were retailing on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).

Notably, gold and silver prices stood at Rs 50,940 per 10 grams and Rs 60,629 per kg respectively.
