Fortunately, no injuries were reported, preventing a potentially devastating outcome.
The collapse brought traffic on the busy road to a standstill, causing severe congestion and frustration among commuters. This marks the fifth such incident in the past year, raising significant concerns about the structural integrity of the Nala and the effectiveness of maintenance efforts.

In the wake of the collapse, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijay Lakshmi, accompanied by Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayanti, inspected the site and assured the public of swift action. The mayor announced that the tender process for repairs would begin within 24 hours to address the immediate concerns.
Angry residents expressed their frustration, blaming the Congress government and civic authorities for repeated failures in strengthening the drain. Protesters raised slogans against the administration, demanding immediate action to prevent further incidents.
“We have been highlighting these issues for months, but no action has been taken. Do we need more accidents before they wake up?” lamented a frustrated local commuter.
