Governor inaugurates Oxygen Plant at Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital

Hyderabad, Feb.25 (Maxim News): Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan inaugurated the Oxygen Generation Plant at the Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital and Research Centre, here, on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor highlighted the country’s successful efforts in emerging self-reliant in terms of medical oxygen generation and supply after undergoing the medical oxygen shortage crisis during the second wave. “The country has shown phenomenal resilience and has doubled its medical oxygen generation capacity under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji,” she said.

The Governor also underscored the country’s tremendous success in vaccine development, manufacturing and supply.

She said that it was a proud moment for all of us that India has its own indigenous vaccine and has administered a record number of more than 176 crore vaccine doses till now.

Referring to the medical services of the Durgabai Deshmukh hospital to the downtrodden and the needy, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has called upon the philanthropists to support the hospital to expand its services.

The Governor appreciated the D.E. Shaw and Company for donating and installing the 250 LPM Oxygen Generation Plant to help the needy get the medical oxygen.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has also recalled her association with the Andhra Mahila Sabha hospital in Chennai during her college days as post-graduate student of gynaecology. (Maxim News)
