Governor Jishnu Dev Varma Flagged Off “Jai Bhim Padayatra”

Hyderabad, April 13 (Maxim News): Governor, Jishnu Dev Varma, flagged off the “Jai Bhim Padayatra” this morning from Raj Bhavan to mark the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

This is organised as per the decision of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to organise a nation-wide Jai Bhim Padayatra‘ across all states, to be held in their respective state capitals.

The Padayatra saw spirited participation from NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, and Raj Bhavan staff, who joined hands in paying tribute to the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a towering figure in the fight for social justice.

The march culminated at the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Necklace Road. Earlier, the Governor offered a rich floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. B.R Ambedkar at Raj Bhavan in honour of his enduring legacy. The event served as a poignant reminder of Dr. Ambedkar’s lifelong commitment to equality, justice, and the upliftment of the marginalized.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor urged the youth to embrace the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar and draw inspiration from his life’s work to build a more inclusive and equitable society.
