Mumbai/Hyderabad, Aug 10 (Maxim News) Bollywood actor Govinda has responded to his wife Sunita Ahuja’s remarks about his past relationships with actresses.
In a recent interaction with a video news agency, Govinda said Sunita’s criticism helps her gain attention. However, he added that he sees affection behind her remarks.
“Criticism can bring recognition very easily,” Govinda said. He claimed that Sunita handles it cleverly by mixing praise with criticism.
The actor said he accepts her comments with affection. He also praised Sunita for raising their children while he remained busy with his film career.
Govinda also addressed questions about his relationships with actresses. He acknowledged that romantic relationships existed during his career.
Govinda explains his past relationships
Govinda said romance with a heroine helped create chemistry on screen. He linked that chemistry to the success of songs and films.
He also made an indirect remark about the allegations against him. Comparing the situation to being inside a sweet shop while remaining hungry, he described such a situation as painful.
The veteran actor also reflected on his younger years. He said his own innocence sometimes makes him feel embarrassed today.
Govinda said he took time to understand life between the ages of 21 and 34. He also shared his view that marriage does not automatically prevent men from making wrong choices.
At the same time, he said women often remain more focused on their families. His comments came amid public discussions about his relationship with Sunita.
Govinda and Sunita married in 1987. The couple kept their marriage private for nearly two years because Govinda wanted to protect his film career.
They later built a family together and have two children, daughter Tina and son Yashvardhan.
Govinda became one of Hindi cinema’s popular stars through films across comedy, romance and action. His career also included several successful on screen pairings with leading actresses.
