Hyderabad, Feb 28(Maxim News): On credible information the sleuths of Special Operations Team, LB Nagar Zone, Rachakonda Commissionerate, raided HNo. 5-4-32, Kamala Nagar, Vanasthalipuram and apprehended one person byname G. Suresh Kumar Reddy @ Suresh who is indulding in supplying of banned different types of Gutka / Tobacco and Tobacco products and other incriminating materials all W/Rs. 50,000/- from his possession.
During the interrogation Gudimetla Suresh Kumar Reddy @ Suresh confessed that, he does as commission agent to supply the tobacco products viz., Cigarettes, Beedi etc., for eke out his livelihood. His meagre earnings on supplying of cigarettes products are not sufficient to meet his family expenditure. So he decided to earn easy money by supplying the banned tobacco products and selling of prohibited Gutkha, Tobacco and other pan shop products to the known and needy customers pan shop owners, tea stall vendors in Hyderabad. He is indulging in illegal storage, marketing noxious Tobacco products contents on the name of various brands illegally to gain easy profits. On observation found that they have storage, and selling the Zardas which contains Tobacco and Nicotine as ingredients and tobacco product like Amber Tobacco, Raja Tobacco, Miraj, Baba Tobacco which packed in pouches/Sachets on the name of various products.
He is purchasing the Noxious Tobacco products from Begum Bazar of Hyderabad City clandestinely transporting & storage in his house and deliver to known and needy customers of Kirana stores, Pan shop vendors to gain easy profits.
Since the Government of Telangana State has banned the sale, manufacture, distribution and storage of Gutka/Tobacco and all its variants. After that the accused were planned to earning easy money by way of selling of banned Gutka / Tobacco in the market as it as much demand in the market. They used to purchase the banned Gutka / Tobacco products & noxious Gutka sachets containing Tobacco contents from the Organizer dealers in cheap rate and deliver to Kirana shops, Pan Shops in and around Vansathalipuram and other areas in high profits and gaining easy profits illegally and the accused violated the food safety and Standards Act 2006.
The accused persons along with seized property handed over to the S.H.O. Vanasthalipuram P.S., for taking further action against them. Relevant and appropriate penal sections will be initiated against the accused persons.
The above raids were conducted under the supervision of Syed Rafeeq, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Special Operations Team, Rachakonda, by T. Ravi Kumar, Inspector of Police, SOT, Mir Mudasir Ali, Sub-Inspector and the staff of Special Operations Team, L.B. Nagar Zone and local police.
