Bengaluru, Sept. 6: Haj pilgrims selected for the 2027 pilgrimage must complete their first medical fitness check by September 15.
The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services said pilgrims must undergo a mandatory two stage medical screening before travelling.
The first stage includes a preliminary medical examination and fitness certification. Pilgrims must submit the required documents by the September 15 deadline.
The second stage will take place closer to departure. It will include a final medical examination and mandatory vaccination.
Haj Pilgrims Must Complete Medical Tests at Government Facilities
Pilgrims must undergo the first medical examination only at government allopathic health facilities.
The screening will be available at taluk and district hospitals and government medical college hospitals.
In Bengaluru, examinations will be conducted at Victoria Hospital, Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, KC General Hospital, Jayanagar General Hospital and Sri CV Raman General Hospital.
The mandatory tests include a complete blood count, fasting blood sugar or HbA1c, chest X ray, kidney function test and liver function test.
An ECG is compulsory for pilgrims above 40 years and those with hypertension, diabetes or obesity.
After the examination, pilgrims must obtain the prescribed Primary Medical Fitness Certificate with the doctor’s signature and seal.
They must also retain their bank pay in slip or online payment receipt.
Pilgrims must upload the fitness certificate and payment receipt on the official Haj Committee of India portal.
Physical copies must also reach the Karnataka State Haj Committee office in Bengaluru by September 15.
Pilgrims should preserve their original fitness certificate and laboratory reports. They will need these documents during the second stage medical examination and vaccination camp.
Officials have urged all selected pilgrims to complete the process within the deadline to avoid last minute difficulties.
