Half Day For Govt Office, Schools In Telangana During Ramzan
Hyderabad, Feb 18 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has announced that Muslim employees working in government offices, schools, boards, corporations, and public sector organizations can leave work at 4 PM during Ramadan, from March 3 to March 31.
Ramadan and Its Importance
Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims, during which they fast from dawn to dusk and dedicate more time to prayer, charity, and self-discipline. They pray five times a day, and during Ramadan, they also perform a special prayer called Taraweeh at night.
The month of fasting is divided into three parts:
- The first 10 days are believed to bring Allah’s mercy.
- The next 10 days are for the forgiveness of sins.
- The last 10 days are for salvation from hellfire.
In the final days of Ramadan, some Muslims also observe Itikaf, where they stay in a mosque for deep prayer and recitation of the Quran.
A Month of Faith and Giving
During Ramadan, Muslims focus on fasting, prayer, and helping the less fortunate. They avoid lying, injustice, and wrongdoing while practicing kindness and self-control. The month ends with Eid-ul-Fitr, a festival of celebration and gratitude. (Maxim News)
