Hyderabad, Oct 24 (Maxim News): Former Telangana minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao has urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to postpone the TGPSC Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Civil examination scheduled for November 6.
In an open letter on Saturday, Harish Rao said the examination clashes with the Staff Selection Commission’s Junior Engineer (SSC JE) examination. He warned that thousands of engineering aspirants could lose the opportunity to appear for both competitive examinations.
Harish Rao questioned how candidates appearing for the SSC JE examination at centres outside Telangana could return in time to write the state-level AEE examination.
He said unemployed youth had spent years preparing for both tests. However, the overlapping schedules could force them to give up one opportunity.
Harish Rao Seeks Immediate Intervention on Exam Dates
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader said candidates had repeatedly requested the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to reconsider the examination schedule.
He also referred to a letter reportedly sent by Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to TGPSC on October 14. The minister had asked the commission to review the examination dates, Harish Rao said.
The Siddipet MLA cited Odisha and Bihar as examples of states where examination schedules had reportedly been changed to address similar conflicts. He questioned why Telangana could not take similar steps.
Harish Rao said candidates were not seeking the cancellation of examinations or jobs without competition. Instead, they wanted an opportunity to appear for both tests after preparing for them over several years.
He urged Revanth Reddy to intervene immediately and direct the commission to postpone the November 6 AEE (Civil) examination.
Harish Rao also called on the government and TGPSC to coordinate examination schedules more carefully to prevent similar clashes in the future.
The TGPSC schedule lists the AEE (Civil) recruitment examination for November 6 and 7. The SSC JE examination is scheduled between November 2 and 6, creating an overlap on November 6. No postponement had been announced in the reports available on Saturday.
