Hyderabad, August 20: Former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao wrote an open letter to Rahul Gandhi over alleged misuse of the 22A prohibited land list in Telangana.
He alleged that thousands of private properties face restrictions after being included in the 22A list.
The properties reportedly include plots and buildings with HMDA permissions across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal and Sangareddy districts.
Harish Rao said properties in areas such as Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills were also affected.
Harish Rao Seeks Probe Into 22A Allegations
The BRS leader alleged a 30 percent commission racket in the Revenue Department.
He claimed brokers were demanding commissions to remove properties from the prohibited list.
Harish Rao also demanded the dismissal of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy over the allegations.
He urged the Revanth Reddy government to order an independent inquiry into the matter.
Meanwhile, Harish Rao said the BRS would continue its fight until affected property owners receive justice.
