Hyderabad, Nov.8 (Maxim News): The High Court on Friday directed the State government not to take any steps till the next hearing of the case on November 11 on the decision to issue permits to 5100 routes under TSRTC. It also directed the TSRTC to file its counter affidavit on the issue.
The court made this order while dealing with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Prof. PL Visweswar Rao, vice president of Telangana Jana Samithi. Besides, the Court directed the State Advocate General to produce a certified copy of the Cabinet decision on the issue before the court. On Friday, the State government filed its counter affidavit in the PIL stating that a policy decision was taken on the issue in accordance with the law enacted by Parliament.
The RTC unions JAC expressed it s happiness over High Court decision. The High Court suggested to the State government to conduct meeting with RTC employees over the TSRTC strike. The State government said the aim behind privatization of bus routes was to provide comfortable transport facility to the public. However, the HC rejected the argument.
The High Court expressed displeasure on the State government over incorrect documents provided by them. Speaking on behalf of the Centre, Advocate Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao said the Telangana government had not sought permission from them over privatization of TSRTC. (Maxim News)
