Hyderabad, April 30: Heatwave and thunderstorm alert in Telangana remains in force as temperatures continue to soar above 40 degree Celsius across the state.
The India Meteorological Department has warned that intense heat will persist despite chances of scattered rainfall.
Heatwave And Thunderstorm Alert In Telangana
Adilabad recorded the highest temperature at 44.3 degree Celsius on Wednesday.
Nizamabad followed with 44.2 degree Celsius, while Medak and Khammam crossed 42 degree Celsius.
Mahabubnagar recorded 41.9 degree Celsius, indicating widespread heatwave conditions.
In Hyderabad, temperatures stayed above 40 degree Celsius under an orange alert.
Hayathnagar was the hottest at 41 degree Celsius, followed by Hakimpet, Rajendra Nagar and Begumpet.
The IMD has forecast isolated thunderstorms with gusty winds in parts of Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Rangareddy and Sangareddy.
These weather changes are likely on Thursday evening or early Friday.
However, officials said there will be no major drop in temperatures over the next three days.
The heatwave is expected to intensify further by May 3.
Temperatures in Hyderabad and nearby districts may range between 41 and 44 degree Celsius.
Authorities advised people to take precautions and avoid prolonged exposure to heat.
