Heavy Rain Alert in Telangana
Heavy rain are expected to lash out across the state for the next three days. The meteorological department is issuing an orange alert to a few districts.
On Sunday, isolated heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural, and Urban, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhongir, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts.
Officials from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reported a deep depression over the Northwest and bordering West Central Bay of Bengal.
It was expected to strengthen into a cyclonic storm and travel roughly westward, crossing the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coastlines by Sunday evening.
On Sunday, mild to moderate rain or thundershowers are predicted in many areas, with severe rain in isolated areas.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershowers is expected in many regions, with heavy to very heavy rain forecast in isolated areas during the following two days.
On Saturday, the state’s average rainfall was 4.1mm. TSDPS afternoon reports show that Adilabad received 36.3 mm of rain, followed by Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, which received 29.3 mm, and Bhadadri Kothagudem, which received 21.3 mm.
Rains are falling in a variety of locations, resulting in consistent inflows into several projects in both the Krishna and Godavari basins.
According to reports on Saturday morning, the Priyadarshini Jurala project got 64,000 cusecs and four gates were opened to discharge 68,358 cusecs of water downstream. Srisailam received 55,324 cusecs while Nagarjuna Sagar received 80,389 cusecs as a result.
