Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across Telangana on September 23 and 24, with a red alert issued for eight districts on Wednesday.
The weather warning comes as a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to move towards the Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts, bringing widespread rainfall to Telangana.
The IMD has advised residents in the affected districts to remain cautious, particularly in areas vulnerable to waterlogging, flooding and strong winds.
Red Alert Issued for Eight Telangana Districts
The IMD has forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in parts of Telangana on Wednesday. Several other districts are also likely to receive heavy rainfall.
Rainfall activity is expected to remain intense on Thursday, September 24, before gradually weakening thereafter.
Authorities have been directed to remain alert and take precautionary measures in vulnerable areas. Residents are advised to follow official weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall.
